Portugal 2007

As the weather was so rubbish this summer, we decided to return to Portugal and have our first family holiday without any grandparents help!
On reflection, I behaved impeckably for my parents, mummy had some sun-bathing time and I got to spend more time with daddy. Thankfully the golf clubs were packed and I had a football to keep me entertained.

Friends

Shortly after my birthday the Hingleys came to stay. Oliver, who is now 19 months old, was great company so I let him share my toys and bath.

Dad - you can bin this photo when I'm older!

Even the local policeman showed up. I am sure mummy and daddy had been behaving themselves.

Keep my face away from the camera please!

We were served dinner by the mums whilst the dad drank beer and talked about the good old days.

June 2nd 2007 - My 1st Birthday

I had a lovely 1st birthday with my Grand-parents, Aunties and Uncles.
Not only was I very spolit by everyone on my birthday, Auntie Laura bought me a present which I will wear with pride until I need another one!

Mini-Crouch

Harry the Hedgehog - am I supposed to share this?

Now that was a social event not to be missed

Down at the farm

Recently my parents have discovered a local farm, 'urban style'. I have now come across some new animals, face-to-face, who seemed fairly harmless.

Nice teeth

Showing my age

As my 1st birthday was fast approaching, daddy decided to start to dress me in clothes which seemed remarkably similar to his..but smaller versions!
Even my hair took on a new look!

Grandma Jevons 60th

Grandma Jevons reached the grand old age of 60 in April and not only has she joined the rest of the Grandparents in this milestone she is also now eligible for a free bus pass! Grandma and Grandpa Jevons kindly took us all to Cyprus to celebrate. The Italians, the Middle-Eastern pair and us British flew over to join her for a week of drinking and partying in the sun.

Can I have your attention please?

It's important to stay cool in the sun

Welcome to my crib!

And they thought I was fast asleep!

Food and Football

As mummy is now holding down two jobs I have noticed she is making less homemade food which I did grow to like. To keep her happy, I have shown no signs of being a 'fussy-eater' and have eaten most things she puts in front of me. However, my table manners need some improvement and I suggest a day at Finishing School would do the trick.

Table for 1 please!

Playtime

I would now class myself as a fairly efficient crawler and I seem to get everywhere I need without much effort. I have mastered air guitar...
bear wrestling...
but I don't always win...
and pretending to be good...

Bathtime

Since starting at nursery, mummy has stuck strictly to her agenda and bathtime has remained at 6pm. As I am getting less sleep at nursery so I am not often in the best of moods come the evening. Mummy and Daddy do try their best to keep me entertained.

Me and my friends

Before I started nursery in January, I spent some quality times with my mummy and daddy. I couldn't possibly leave the monkey or moose out.

My 1st Christmas party

Before Christmas, my mummy and her friends organised a Christmas party for us special people. We went over to Frances's house for the day and played whilst the parents drank and ate. 'Secret Santa' had been organised by the mummys so a present was chosen for me and kept wrapped until the big day. We were too interested in the paper than the content.
It was good to hang out with my friends but wasn't too sure if I was supposed to be the Secret Santa everyone was talking about!

Taking over on the playmat

6 months old

Looking back now I achieved quite a bit in my first six months. Sitting up gave me a different perspective, reading was good fun and hanging out with grandparents still appealled. Grandpa Jevons even tried to teach me how to play the piano, talk about Hot Housing me or what!

Anyone over 60?

As Christmas was drawing near, mummy and daddy decided to take me on my first visit to Liverpool, not to visit this man, who isn't quite 60 (not long to go though!)...

...but to visit my two Great-Great Aunties in Liverpool. These ladies have been around for a while and we calculated a 95 year age gap between us! That day I visited a hospital and a home where much older people spend their days. Everyone seems to make a fuss of me.

I didn't get to see much of the Capital of Culture and daddy didn't even take me to see where the reds play. That can be saved for another visit!

Water baby

As mummy postponed her return to work until the New Year, she signed me up for swimming lessons in what was supposed to be a 'Hydro Pool' specially heated for little people. I hadn't been that comfortable in the bath so I suppose swimming was a good way to get me more confident in the water. Nowadays, bathtime is a good as I can sit up on my own, play with my toys whilst mummy and daddy entertain themselves with the bath foam. They need to get out more!

Congratulations

Daddy took a week off and we went up to Northumberland for a few days. It was mummy and daddy's wedding anniversary whilst we were there so I guess you could say that I gate-crashed it. They were keen to get me out and about as the weather was good and I even experienced some new techniques for nappy-changing!

It is me honestly

It was good to spend some time with mummy and daddy and I kept them entertained with my new noises.

Time to go home before we were spotted as being under-age drinkers
